OUR AIMS

Students Against Sexual Harassment and Assault (SASHA) raises awareness and campaigns against issues related to sexual assault and rape culture prevalent in universities and wider communities. We aim to:

Provide a safe space for everyone no matter their gender, race, sexuality, disabilities or experiences. We have socials, like 'Sip and Social' every Wednesday, that invite members to come and engage with likeminded students!

Educate members on issues around sexual violence, including consent and the types of sexual assault - especially how it can affect different communities and individuals.

By collecting testimonies, we hope to showcase real life experiences with sexual violence rather than just statistics - that other survivors may be able to resonate with.

Have a positive effect on the University of Leeds and pushing for better approaches to sexual assault everywhere.

The SASHA LUU website is where we will continue to share more of the educational material you can find on our Instagram page @sasha_uol, showcase the work we've done - like our Art Exhibition with Lauren Royall and 'Reclaim the Streets' Chalking Event - and allow our members to get directly involved with SASHA in our new blog - where people can write educational pieces, poems or spoken word on sexual violence and related issues, such as how misogyny, racism and patriarchy intersect with rape culture. You can also find updates on local campaigns and protests in Leeds, access resources and charities if you need them!
